Cecilia S Chavez

Cecilia S. Chavez, 73, passed away on May 5, 2016 in her home in Torreon, New Mexico. She was born on September 20, 1942 in Punta De Agua, NM to the late Tobias and Teresa (Torres) Sanchez. Cecilia was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church of Torreon, NM and a lifetime NM resident. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Cora Alderete; brother, Toby Sanchez and son, Jesus Chavez. Cecilia is survived by her beloved husband, Jose C. Chavez of 52 years of Torreon, NM; sons and daughter in law, Mark and Deanne Chavez of Magdelina, NM and Joe Chavez of Socorro, NM; daughters and son in law, Annabel Chavez of Torreon, NM and Frances and Mark Sullivan of Seattle, WA; brothers, Vivian Sanchez, Claude Sanchez and Mario Sanchez and sisters, Carla Lucero and Delores Lopez. Cecilia was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A Rosary is to be recited on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church of Torreon, NM. The Celebration of Mass will be Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. Pallbearers are Vivian Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Claude Sanchez, Bailey Chavez, Kelvin Chavez and Mark Sullivan. Honorary Pallbearers are Frank Lucero, Colt Wettermen and Vincent Sanchez. Father Bob Peccatiello to Officiate. Interment will be at the Torreon Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris- Hanlon Mortuary.
