Lillian Marie Gorman

April 4, 2016 — April 5, 2016

Lillian Marie Gorman born 4/4/16 to Joshua and Mattie Gorman and passed away on 4/5/16: On April 5th, our little Lillian took her last breath on this earth wrapped in her mother’s arms, to take her first breath in heaven wrapped safely in Jesus’ arms. Although her time with us was short, we praise God for the precious time He gave us while she was here. Her soft curly hair and gentle eyes will forever be engrained on our hearts. There are no words that can describe how difficult it is to lose your child. As we sat behind the ambulance weeping and praying for our daughter, we both felt that God had chosen her for this. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9. Our tears of sadness were turned into tears of joy as we realized that she would never have to go through any pain in this world, as we knew she was now safe in the arms of Jesus. We will never forget the sweet while that her Daddy rocked her in his arms as she slept or heard her precious first cry, but are in awe that she stands in the presence of the Most High God and can be taught by her heavenly Father who is perfect instead of her earthly one. This is now the second time in the last couple years we have found comfort in the words written in James 1:2-4 which says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” We know that God could have saved our Lillian if He had chosen to do so, but as Jesus said to the Father in Luke 22:42,”…nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” As hard as it is to bear, we accept His will and know that He will give us the strength we need to carry on day by day. We have dedicated our family to loving Christ and glorifying Him with all our hearts, soul, mind and strength and praise the Lord for His love and kindness. God has blessed us far above what we could ever deserve especially through His own son. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 We feel so blessed by all the people who have surrounded us with love and prayers. Even though we are never alone, the loneliness we feel for our daughter is almost unbearable. We know that the passing of each day brings us closer to us seeing her again and that Lillian fully agrees that, “We are confident , yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 So as we sit holding her blanket, we are fully confident that Jesus is holding her soul and watching her play in fields of green. So we praise His name! “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 136:1
