Ciria O. Gonzales

Our Loving and Precious mother Ciria Gonzales 95 of LA Madera New Mexico, Passed on to a better life on January 10, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Pablo and Lusita Barreras on December 7th 1920. She is preceded in death by her husband Serafin of 71 years, her grandsons Adam, George, and Ernie, her sisters Emma and Bessie. She is survived by her children, Feda Chavaria (Carlos) Gennie Lucero ( Leo ) Helen Aragon, Mary Light (Walter) Larry Gonzales (Mary) Gloria Vella, Tina Resner (Greg) Tony Gonzales (Dina) Connie Quintana (Juan ) Servie Gonzales ( Geri ) and Paul Gonzales. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren The Arenas, The Montanos, and her special friends Mark and Linda Del Frate. Ciria met and married her husband Serafin when she was 16, while raising her 11 children. She worked along side him chopping and gathering wood for her wood stove where she made beans and tortillas sometimes 2 and 3 times a day. She would haul water to wash clothes by hand. She worked hard all the while loving and caring for her children, teaching them respect and hard work ethics. We will miss her so much. We would like to thank Pres Hospice, Especially Nurse Karen, Therese and Chaplin Janet. A Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday January 13, 2016 at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. A Celebration of Mass is scheduled for Thursday January 14, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at the St. Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. Father Vincent P. Chavez to Officiate. Pallbearers will be, Frank Gallegos, Mike Gutierrez, Joe Aragon, Jessie Aragon, Carlos Chavaria and Gilbert Castillo. Honorary Pallbearers are all the Grandsons and Granddaughters. Arrangements were entrusted to Grant and Karen Preston with Harris-Hanlon Mortuary of Moriarty New Mexico.
