Velta "Vel" Lea Gilley

Velta “Vel” Lea Gilley, age 67, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2015 in Mountainair, New Mexico. She was born on October 31, 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late John and Mildred (Goar) Dunlop. Vel was a 24 year resident of New Mexico and the former Mayor of Mountainair, NM. She is also preceded in death by her Son, James Gilley and Daughter, Deanna Griffith. Vel is survived by her Husband James D. Gilley of Mountainair, NM; Sons and Daughters in Law, Brad and Donna Perot of Mountainair, NM, Mike and Jacinda Perot of Waynoka, OK and Joe D. Gilley of Mountainair, NM; Daughters and Sons in Law, Deborah and Kenneth Bedgood of Louisiana and Jennifer and James Rich of Tome, NM; Sisters and Brothers in Law, Carolyn and Dick Jacobi, Dianna and Joseph Kehr and Nila and Robert Scarberry. Vel was blessed with 13 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. No services are scheduled at this time.
