Vidal Maestas, age 95, entered Heavens Gates on December 10, 2015 in Moriarty, New Mexico. He was born on July 22, 1920 to the late Juan Isidro and Elviria (Martinez) Maestas in Los Brazos, NM. Vidal was an extremely hard worker and very loyal. In both his work and home life he always went above and beyond the call of duty. He was a United States Army Veteran and served his country in World War 2 in Rhineland, Central Europe.Vidal received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal as well as the Victory Medal. Vidal was a devout Catholic and member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. He was also preceded in death by his Beloved Wife, Sylvia Maestas; Brother, Jose Maestas; Sisters, Adelina Martinez and Betty Romero and Granddaughter, Michelle Apodaca. Vidal is survived and forever remembered by his Daughter, Margie and Isidro Garcia of Moriarty, NM; Grandchildren, Jose Delacruz and Cristina Garcia of Moriarty, NM, Lisa and John Coriz of Albuquerque, NM, Audra and Simon Masih of Rio Rancho, NM and Erica and Justin Williams of Edgewood; Grandson in Law, Mark Apodaca, as well as several nieces nephews and friends. Vidal was blessed with 11 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday December 21, 2015 at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. The Viewing will be at 9:00 A.M. followed by the reciting of the Rosary at 9:30 A.M. A Mass will Follow at 10:00 A.M. Internment will also be on Monday December 21, 2015 at 2:15 P.M. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Jose Delacruz Garcia, Simon Masih, Justin Williams, John Coriz, Alicia Chavez and Francisco “Pancho” Sandoval. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Vidal’s Great Grandchildren.
