Leu Vasquez, 87, of Moriarty, NM peacefully passed away on October 26, 2015. He was born on January 6, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kansas to the late Catilino and Josephine (Perez) Vasquez. Leu loved participating in rodeos in his younger days. He also raised horses and enjoyed having his passion of construction turn into his livelihood. Leu loved his country and spent many years in the United States Army. He is also preceded in death by his Beloved Wife, Caroline Vasquez; Brothers and Sister in Law, Mike and Myrtle Vasquez; Sisters, Caroline Vasquez and Francis Vasquez and Nephews, David Vasquez and Phillip Vasquez. Leu is survived by his Brothers and Sisters in Law, Vern and Wanda Vasquez of Cheyenne, WY, Catalino and Nancy Vasquez of Sutherland, NE and Phillip and Betty Vasquez of North Platte, NE; Sister, Lucita Goodnight of North Platte, NE; Sister in Law, Ruby Vasquez of Scottsbluff, NE. Leu was blessed with 16 Nieces and Nephews as well as several Great Nieces and Nephews. A Viewing is scheduled for Thursday November 5, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. The Rosary is to be recited at 7:00 P.M. The Celebration of Mass will be on Friday November 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. also at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment will immediately follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Mike Vasquez, Vern Vasquez, Catalino Vasquez, Phillip Vasquez and Larry Vasquez.
