Edward Gage, age 88, of Corona, New Mexico peacefully passed on October 1, 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born in Dripping Springs, Texas to the late Lewis and Alice (Davidson) Gage on June 27, 1927 and moved to New Mexico in 1984. Edward entered the Merchant Marines at the age of 17. He played Semi-Pro Baseball and Soft Ball and refereed both Football and Basketball. Sports was a prideful hobby for him and he was very proud of the fact he helped start Little League Baseball in Dripping Springs. Edward was a lifetime rancher and was a Hay County Livestock Show Superintendent. He retired from the Texas Highway Department after 25 years of loyal service. Edward is also preceded in death by his beloved Wife, LaVerne Gage and Sister, Cleo Dyer. He is survived and will forever be remembered by his Sons, Richard Gage and Bradley Gage; Grandchildren, Joshua Gage and Hannah Gage; Nephew, James Grumbles; Nieces, Peggy Nadeau and Tonya Grumbles and Brother in Law, Dayton Grumbles. A Viewing is planned for Thursday October 8, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Capitan Church of Christ in Capitan, NM. The Funeral Service will be on Friday October 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. also at the Capitan Church of Christ with Preacher Les Earwood to Officiate. Interment will immediately follow at the Corona Cemetery. Pallbearers are Walter Garfield, Jack Davidson, Wesley Wesson, Danny Lueras, George Vasquez and Andy Willingham. Honorary Pallbearers are Waylon Hill, Richard Wesson, Gerald Dean, Rogene Alford, Jack Davidson Jr. and Derrick Jones.
