Timothy David Barney

BARNEY, Timothy David a 27 year resident of Edgewood, NM, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the age of 59. He was born June 25, 1956 in Albuquerque, NM. On June 3, 2001, Tim married his soulmate Shirley Goodyear. Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Barney of Edgewood, NM; daughter Elizabeth Barney of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Chanda Shaw and partner Jessica Dunn of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter Brandy Shaw and husband Collin James of Albuquerque, NM. Tim was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren Danny Welch, Madison James, Brooklyn James, and Charlotte Shaw-Dunn. Timothy will be forever remembered by his mother Jeanne Buchly and husband Dan of Rio Rancho, NM; his father David Barney and wife Norma of Placitas, NM; and his sisters April Barney Kraus of Fort Collins, CO, and Jamie Beckstrom and husband Rick of Albuquerque, NM. Tim will be remembered fondly by numerous family members including cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He will be dearly missed by Shirley’s parents, sisters, and brothers. Tim was preceded in death by his uncle Peter Barney and wife Arlene and his paternal grandfather Col. Robert S. Barney and wife Blanche. Tim was known for his good nature, sense of humor, and his love of life. As a handyman and Pool Man, Tim’s numerous customers appreciated and applauded his innate abilities and MacGyver-like qualities trouble-shooting and finding unique and creative solutions while fixing things. No task was too challenging for Tim! Tim had a heart of gold. His presence will be profoundly missed. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 P.M. at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary, 807 Central, Moriarty, NM. A remembrance gathering will be held in Edgewood at the family home following the service.
