Jimmy Melvin Corliss, age 77, passed away on June 12, 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born in Mountainair, New Mexico to the late Alpha Omega and Lena Orvilla (Lilley) Corliss on July 8, 1938. Jimmy married the love of his life Dorothy Corliss on September 6, 1960 in Belen, New Mexico. Throughout his life Jimmy had many passions and became a member of many organizations such as the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and was also a lifetime member of the NRA. Jimmy was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Mountainair, NM. He is also preceded in death by his Beloved Wife, Dorothy Corliss; Brother, Jack Oliver Corliss; Sisters, Medeline McMath and Virginia Watts; and Granddaughters, Lanissa Corliss and Athel Mcdonald. Jimmy is survived and will forever be remembered by his Sons and Daughters in Law, Jimmy A and Rheeann Corliss of Estancia, NM, Leonard E. and Wygila Corliss of Estancia, NM and Charlie and Maddy Corliss of Silver City, NM; and Daughter Raylene Turner of Odessa, TX. Jimmy was blessed with 8 beautiful Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday June 16, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, New Mexico. Reverend Derril Roberts, Richard Spencer and Gary Lee Watts to officiate. Interment to immediately follow at the Round Top Cemetery in Mountainair, New Mexico. Pallbearers are Jamey Shirer, Onan Turner, Aden Corliss, Tate Corliss, Blaine Corliss, Wilse Corliss and Arliss Corliss. Honorary Pallbearers are James Stuart, Dick Mills, Orval Watts, Kenny Shaw, Raymond Mackey, Gary Lee Watts, Colt Turner, Homer Jackson, Leon Autry, Delbert Autry, Billy Toller, Marcileno Lucero, Jack Kilpatrick and Duane Boyles.
