Clayton Leroy Cairns

Clayton LeRoy Cairns, age 81 of Moriarty, NM peacefully passed on June 9, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 16, 1933 in St. Cloud, MN to the late Walter and Laura (Baker) Cairns. Clayton attended school in St. Cloud, Rural Rice and Sauk Rapids, MN. As a teenager he was active in 4-H and played softball with the Church team. He joined the United States Air Force April 24, 1950. He served for 22 years 10 months and 6 days as a TSGT in Food Service. He Retired on March 1, 1974. Clayton moved to El Paso, TX in 1974 and worked for Whataburger for over 20 years. On May 8, 1985 he married his soul mate Helen Louise Wieprecht in Las Cruces, NM. In 1993 he moved to New Mexico. Clayton loved to tease everyone. He enjoyed camping and fishing. His best times were spent at his sister Mary’s Lake in MN. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Clayton is also preceded in death by his Brother, William Cairns. He is survived and will forever be remembered by his beloved Wife, Helen L. Cairns; Son, Dennis Eugene Cairns; Step Sons, Monte Alan Owsley and Troy Michael Owsley; Daughters and Son in Law, Ronda Lynne Ashcraft and Gloria Diane and Tim Barnes; Step Daughter, Michelle Lynn Kientz; Sisters and Brother in Law, Donna and Alvin Scheel and Mary Denchfield. Clayton was blessed with 14 beautiful Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
