Dr. Alvin Kerry Chadwick

Dr. Alvin Kerry Chadwick Dr. Alvin Kerry Chadwick, a Southern Baptist minister, entered heaven and met Jesus face to face on May 25th, 2015 in Tajique, NM. At the time of his death, Chadwick was manager of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico’s Inlow Baptist Camp and Conference Center. He was an active Christian, a faithful husband and a devoted father. Chadwick married his wife, Deanna Lynn Lackey, on May 19, 1990 in Las Cruces, NM. Together, they raised their two children, Corporal Kenneth Chadwick of the United States Marines and Abigail Anet Chadwick. Reverend Chadwick was born in Baldwin Park, CA, on November 5, 1963 to Kenneth and Barbara Chadwick. He chose to follow Jesus Christ as his Savior at a very young age. He was ordained as a minister of the gospel on January 3, 1988 by Westside and Emmanuel Baptist Churches (Las Cruces, NM). In 1990, Chadwick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from New Mexico State University. In 1995, he earned a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Then, in 2013, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Chadwick generously invested his life and energy in helping others. He pastored Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (Pleasant Valley, TX), Hachita Baptist Church (Hachita, NM), Bethel Baptist Church (Deming, NM) and First Baptist Church (Sitka, AK). Chadwick served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1993 to 1995. He also worked as a chaplain for Valley Baptist Medical Center (Harlingen, TX), as director of the BSU Christian Challenge (Silver City, NM) and as assistant director of the BSU Christian Challenge (Las Cruces, NM). After Chadwick's return to New Mexico, he sought membership at First Baptist Church (Estancia, NM). He also joined the New Mexico Singing Churchmen. Chadwick was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Civil Air Patrol, too, where he also served as a chaplain. He enjoyed reading, photography, writing, and hiking. Because of his personality, influence, and impact, Chadwick will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, his coworkers and his entire community. Chadwick is survived by his parents; his beloved wife; his son and daughter; his brothers, Kenneth (Shelly) Chadwick and William (Jenelle) Chadwick; his sister, Audrey (Larry) Wauson; his in-laws, Archie and Lanee Lackey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Chadwick is scheduled for 1:00 PM on June 1, 2015, at Immanuel Baptist Church (Estancia, NM). His pastor and friend, Reverend Jonathan Richard, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Inlow Baptist Camp Camper Scholarship Fund.
