Ramona Salas

Ramona C. Salas, age 97, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother was embraced by the Lord and taken into eternal life on Monday May 11, 2015 in her home. Ramona was born in Abo, New Mexico on August 3, 1917 and was a resident of Mountainair, New Mexico. Ramona deeply loved more than anything her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her heart was always filled with joy for each and every one of them. She always had her door opened to visitors for coffee and cookies. She was the link to her large family and spiritual guidance to their souls. Ramona will be greatly missed by all of her family and by those whose hearts she touched. She was preceded in death by her Parents, David and Rosa Chavez; Husband, Delfino Salas; Daughter, Helen Chavez as well as two Brothers, two Sisters, one Daughter in Law, Rose Salas and Sons in Law, Manuel Garza and Fredrick Lueras. Ramona is survived by her loving children, Miguel Salas, Pedro Salas, Lorenza and Magdaleno Sanchez, Son in Law Pablo Chavez, Andrea and John Garza and Patricia and Henry Luna. Ramona is also survived by her 23 Grandchildren, 59 Great Grandchildren and 34 Great-Great Grandchildren. She has numerous God Children, nephews, nieces and her loving caretakers, Alexandra Lueras, Patsy Rubi and many other relatives and friends. A Rosary is to be recited on Thursday May 14, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at the Saint Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, New Mexico. The Celebration of Mass be will on Friday May 15, 2015 at 1:00 PM also at the Saint Alice Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the San Lorenzo Catholic Cemetery in Abo, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Robert Salas, Leroy Salas, Mathew Sanchez, David Lueras, Carlos Lueras, Andrew Chavez, Valentin Garza and Xavier Garza. Honorary Pallbearers are Marty Salas, Lonnie Greene, Wyatte Greene, Dylan Greene, Morgan Greene, Santiago Lueras and Anthony Padilla.
