Michael Troy Chavez

Michael Troy Chavez, 36, a longtime resident of Moriarty, NM passed away Wednesday May 6, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. Michael was born to David F. & Mildred E. Chavez on October 30, 1978 in Grants, NM. Michael graduated at Moriarty High School in 1998, where he enjoyed playing baseball, football, track, and was in the school choir. Michael was preceded in death by one brother Nick Luna. Michael is survived by his mother Mildred E. Chavez of Moriarty, NM; father David F. Chavez of Cubero, NM; twin sons Julius Anthony Chavez and Michael Jude Chavez, both of Estancia, NM; daughter Breanna Marie Chavez of Moriarty, NM; eight brothers, David D. Chavez, Julian P. Chavez, Gene A. Chavez, Robert Ortiz, Tino Ortiz, Pat Luna, Joe Jaramillo and Julio Weeker; two sisters, Lisa Thomas and Brittney Torres; numerous Nieces & Nephews, and two Great Nieces. A rosary will be recited Wednesday May 13, 2015—7:00PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. Mass will be celebrated Thursday May, 14, 2015—11:00 AM ant the Moriarty Civic Center with Father Moses officiating. Pallbearers will be Paul Tafoya, Randy Chavez, Andrea Chavez, Josh Morales, Lelen Armijo, Michael Aguirre, and Miguel Salas. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Chavez, Julian Chavez, Gene Chavez, Tino Ortiz, Bob Ortiz, Pat Luna, Joe Jaramillo, Julio Weeker, Ricky Tafoya, Henry Tafoya, Jude Baca and Matt Miley. Michael’s services will be followed by cremation and burial of his cremains will be at the Cubero Cemetery in Cubero, NM.
