George Walden, age 84, entered Heavens Gates with his Angel Wings on March 21, 2015 in Aledo, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1930 in Decatur, Alabama to the late George Roop and Sarah Edith (Lybrand) Walden. George was a Navy Veteran and served aboard the USS Boxer Aircraft Carrier during the Korean War. On June 25, 1954 in Stanley, New Mexico he married the love of his life and soul mate Lois Corvin. George and Lois spent all but 4 years of their married life working together. They ranched in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Texas and Costa Rica, Central America. They raised their children during their ranching years. George and Lois were also a professional over the road truck driving team for 13 years. Then they established Walden Woods, specializing in hand-crafted wooden furniture. George had many passions and interests in his life including hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Lakeshore Baptist Church in Hudson Oaks, Texas. George was well loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sister, Sarah Roop Walden and grandson, Jason Hamilton. He is survived and forever remembered by his beloved Wife of 60 blessed years, Lois Corvin Walden; Son and Daughter in Law, George (Pete) and Gabriela Walden; Daughters and Sons in Law, Latha and Dan Hamilton and Edie and Thurman Molder and Sister, Sue Walden. George will be deeply missed by his beautiful and cherished 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Katie and Luke Ray, G.R. and Samantha Walden, Wendy and Aaron Smith, Cassie Walden, Billy Brown, Hailey and Matt Chaffin, Chrissi and Jeff Newbold, Brian and Rachel Hamilton, Rebekah Hamilton, John David Hamilton, Victoria Hamilton, Stephen Hamilton, Rachel Molder, Nathanael Molder, Joseph Molder, Jacob Molder, Mikaela Klassen, Hattie Walden, Zavian Brown, Malachi Brown, Braylin Chaffin, Taylor Chaffin, Sarah Hill, Jonathan Hill, Lexi Morton and Paisley Newbold. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday March 28, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. at the Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, New Mexico. The Pallbearers will be Pete Walden, Wendy Walden Smith, Dan Hamilton, Brian Hamilton, John David Hamilton and Stephen Hamilton.
