In Loving Memory of Verona Vaughn
Verona Vaughn, a loving wife, mother and friend passed away Saturday morning at her home in Edgewood. She was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on November 11, 1950 to K.P. and Florence Garnett. She attended Fort Sumner High School and went to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. She taught elementary school in Farwell, Texas from 1981-1990, and then taught in the Moriarty School system until retirement in 2009. She married Lonnie Vaughn on December 22, 1989. Their 25th Anniversary was this Monday. After her retirement, she and Lonnie enjoyed breeding, training and racing horses. She was a member of New Mexico Horse Breeders and has touched many lives all over New Mexico. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Lonnie Vaughn, sons Tuck Traynor and Landon Vaughn, parents K.P and Florence Garnett and sister Sandra Garnett Tatom.
Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Edgewood, 20 Leslie Rd., Edgewood, NM 87015 at 1:00 pm, Tuesday December 23rd. Pallbearers will be John Ballew, Stanley Garnett, Joel Garnett, Leon Stock, Bill Exum and Richard Ford.
