BILLY PITTMAN, 62, passed away at home on November 11, 2014. Billy was born December 5, 1951 in Portales, New Mexico to Ishamel (Smokey) and Virginia (Lea) Pittman. Billy attended school in Portales and Floyd, New Mexico before the family moved to Moriarty, New Mexico in 1966. Billy graduated from Moriarty High School in 1969. He then worked on ranches in both New Mexico and Texas. Billy married Mollie O’Neal on May 20, 1972 in Moriarty. They started their lives together living in Portales, moving back to Moriarty in 1976. Billy began working at Central New Mexico Electric Co-op in September of 1976. He retired after thirty-one years in 2007. He also managed the family ranch. Billy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moriarty for forty-eight years. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was very involved in helping his grandson Kade with his show steers. Billy always had a quick wit and made sure everyone was laughing. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, loyalty and ability to put everyone around him at ease. Billy is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Mollie Pittman, his daughters, Cassie Eisenberger and her daughter Mollie Eisenberger of Clovis, New Mexico, Kyria and husband Cris Encinias, and their son Kade Pittman and daughter Kinsey Encinias of Hobbs, New Mexico. His sister Linda Zepeda and husband Mike of Conroe, Texas and brother Ronnie Pittman and wife Patty of Chandler, Arizona as well as four nieces, two nephews and his sister-in-law Maggie Rose of Albuquerque, New Mexico as well as many loyal friends, also survive him. Billy was preceded in death by his parents Ishamel (Smokey) and Virginia Pittman, sister LaJonna Strickland, and his father-in-law and mother in-law Lewis and Virginia O’Neal. The family will be holding a private service.
