Felipe Michel-Herrera

OBITUARY FELIPE MICHEL-HERRERA, 75, of Moriarty, NM passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Felipe was born May 1, 1939 in La Cienga, Durango, Mexico to Casimiro and Alvina (Herrera) Michel. Felipe married his loving wife of 54 years, Merced Pineda, on June 25, 1960. Together they had and raised six sons and three daughters. Felipe lived in Moriarty for the past 36 years having previously lived in Mexico. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. Felipe was preceded in death by his parents; brother Francisco Michel and sister Soledad Mota. He is survived by his wife Merced Michel-Pineda of Moriarty; sons Alejandro Michel and Angelica of Amarillo, TX, Oscar Michel of Moriarty, Gustavo Michel and Roberta of Moriarty, Gabriel Michel of Albuquerque, Benigno Michel of Moriarty, and Gerardo Michel and Trisha of Edgewood; daughters Dora Carreon and Gabriel of Estancia, Carmen Michel and Aurelio Rivera of Moriarty and Sonia Baca and Jeremiah of Moriarty; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 3:00pm at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with Fr. Moses Nwankwo officiating. Pallbearers will be Alejandro Michel Jr., Andres Michel, Adrian Carreon, Gabriel Carreon, Marcos Rivera, and Cruz Steven Michel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen Michel and Tomas Cano. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
