Catherine Bernice Mccord

CATHERINE BERNICE McCORD, 95, of Corona, NM peacefully passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 in Roswell, NM. Catherine was born January 19, 1919 in Nocona, TX to James Richard and Julia (Payne) Roper. She married her loving husband of 47 years, Aubrey Cecil McCord, in Carrizozo, NM October 1st, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1985. Mrs. McCord was a longtime resident of Corona and a member of the First Baptist Church of Corona. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter Angie Lueras; and son-in-law Byron Yancey. Mrs. McCord is survived by her son James Curtis McCord and wife Peggy of Moriarty; daughter Jewel Catherine Yancey Paschall and husband Bennie of Corona; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 8:00am to 9:00am followed by the service at 9:00am at the First Baptist Church of Corona with Pastor Cal West officiating. Pallbearers will be Russell Lueras, Charlie Lueras, Troy Yancey, Rand Perkins, Walter Garfield and Benny Paschall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cotton Yancey and John Ernest Tracey. Burial will follow the service at the Corona Cemetery.
