Maxwell Duncan Simmons

MAXWELL DUNCAN SIMMONS, 82, of Mountainair, NM passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, August 23, 2014. Maxwell was born August 17, 1932 in Lubbock, TX to Henry Duncan and Kathryn (Maxwell) Simmons. Maxwell married Ethel Wagner May 7th, 1960 in Albuquerque, NM. Together they raised five children. They lived in Mountainair for the past 11 years having previously lived in Albuquerque. Maxwell was a lineman for the IBEW Union 611 and a lifelong member of the IBEW 611 Union. He was also an Air Force Veteran. Maxwell was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter Donna Jean Bowers; and brother, Wray Simmons. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ethel Simmons of Mountainair; sons Kenneth Simmons of Mountainair and Terry Simmons and his wife Ayuko of Tijeras; daughter Sherry Diane Cardenas and her husband Thomas of Hobbs and step-daughter Nancy Leishman and her husband Carl of Albuquerque; and 10 grandchildren. There will be a grave side service on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 11:00am at the Mountainair Cemetery.
