PETROLINO “PETE” SALAZAR, 75, of Moriarty, New Mexico passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Pete was born May 3, 1938 in Jacinto, NM to Antonio and Filomena (Sena) Salazar. Pete lived in Moriarty for the past 30 years having previously lived in Jacinto, NM. He married Maria “Agnes” Gallegos December 15, 1956 in Sena, NM. Together they had and raised four sons, Robert, Everett, Michael and Samuel, and one daughter Geri. Pete was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Pete was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Filomena Salazar; son Adan Salazar; and brother Tomas Salazar. He is survived by his wife Agnes Salazar; sons Robert Salazar and wife Debra, Everett Salazar and girlfriend Jennifer, Michael Salazar and girlfriend Becky, and Samuel Salazar; daughter Geri Salazar; grandchildren Michelle, Chino and wife Samantha, Crystal, Roberto, Melissa and boyfriend Chris, Kiko and girlfriend Melony, Victoria and boyfriend Joshua, Mateo and girlfriend Kristina, Diego and girlfriend Ashley, Esperanza and boyfriend Curtis, Bridget and boyfriend Marcus and Samantha; great-grandchildren Fernando, LaMya, Quamae, Jayla, Eli, CJ, Chris Jr., Cenyon, Cruz, Brooklyn, Brandy and Mireya; sisters and brothers Skippy Encinias, Begnina Romero, Polly and husband Leno Chavez, Deluvina Encinias, Armando and wife Angie, and Jimmy Salazar and wife Patsy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. There will be a Rosary recited on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 7:00PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 215 Gerard Street, Moriarty, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00AM also at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Pallbearers will be Chino, Robert, Mateo, Diego, Kiko and Fernando Salazar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adan Gallegos, Abel Lucero, Greg Salazar, Donna Gallegos, Ray Archibeque, Carlos Bustamante, Rudy Salazar and Walter Gallegos. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
