Robert James Cavasos

ROBERT JAMES CAVASOS, 61, of Stanley, NM passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013. Robert was born in Stanley, NM on August 10, 1952 to Houston “MH” and Lois Wanda (Elliott) Cavasos. Robert was a life time resident of Stanley. He attended and graduated from Moriarty High School in 1970. He also attended North American Technical School in Albuquerque, graduating with an Associates Degree. Robert was a Navy veteran. He served on the USS Brooke in Vietman waters with the rank of ETR 3. He was a member of the Moriarty Church of Christ. Robert was preceded in death by his father Houston Cavasos; sister Rita Nell Cavasos; and brother-in-law Arthur Lee Corbin. He is survived by his mother Lois Cavasos of Stanley, NM; sons Robert “Bobby” Cavasos and his wife Kimberly of Berea, KT and Darrin Cavasos and his wife Melissa of Winslow, AZ; daughter Mahala Cavasos Gallegos and her husband Anthony of Ward, AR; sisters Nora Marie Garduno and her husband Renny of Lubbock, TX, Janet Lois Corbin of Alamogordo, NM and Teresa Lee Armstrong and her husband Bryan of Stanley, NM; eleven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a Funeral Service on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00AM at Moriarty Church of Christ with Minister John C. Booth Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Gerald Elliott, George Elliott, Walter Elliott, Andrew Cavasos, Adrin Cavasos, and Anthony Gallegos III. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Cavasos, Byron Cavasos, Trever Cavasos, Keaton Cavasos, Teagon Cavasos, Ronnie Corvin, John Clark, and Anthony Gallegos Jr. Burial will follow the service at Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, NM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Stanley Cemetery Association in care of Dan Sowle 3850 Hwy 41 Stanley NM 87056.
