Charles Duane Douglas

CHARLES DUANE DOUGLAS, 75, born March 21, 1938, died peacefully at his home in Estancia on Saturday, September 21, 2013, following a long battle with cancer. Charles was born to Homer K. Douglas and Alva Plant Douglas in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He married Janet Hibner Douglas on October 20, 1962.Together they raised Laine Douglas and Mark Douglas. Charles was a building contractor for many years and built homes and commercial buildings in the Estancia Valley and around New Mexico. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Alva Douglas, brothers Jim Lawrence and Homer Douglas. Survivors include his wife Janet, daughter Laine Douglas, son Mark Douglas, granddaughter Alex Shomaker, brother Allen Douglas, sisters Judy Hampton and Janice Swank (Larry), and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many well-loved friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Estancia Church of Christ on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:00AM with Brother Johnny Moore officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Winfield, Charles Wilson, Lynn Cook, Richard Tafoya and Terry Lingle.
