Lois lived nearly the last five decades of her life in Albuquerque, where she moved with her family in 1965. She was born Lois Ten Haken in Hull, Iowa, on April 1st, 1937 to Ada and Willis Ten Haken. She grew up on a farm with her siblings, Linda, Alan, & Harold. Lois had a love for basketball growing up, and in her later years loved cheering on the New Mexico Lobos. For years, she also worked at Valley Livestock Auction. After retirement, Lois’ favorite hobbies were making baby blankets and cuddling sick babies at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. As a mother and grandmother, Lois was a very spiritual woman. She always made it a priority to read The Bible with her grandchildren, teaching them about the love of Jesus Christ. She was very involved at her church, Northdale Baptist Church in Albuquerque.
