Mona Lucille Burns

MONA LUCILLE BURNS, 83, of Estancia, NM peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Mona was born November 17, 1929 in Tatum, NM to Howard and Zena Ruth (Adamson) Grice. Mona married Lee Eddy Burns, her loving husband of thirty-five years, on September 9th, 1949 in Socorro, NM. Together they raised two children Eddy and Susan. Lee preceded her in death on September 3, 1984. Mona had lived in Estancia since 1962 having previously lived in Catron County, NM. She was a charter member of Immanuel Southern Baptist Church. She was very involved with her church. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Zena Grice; husband Lee Burns; sisters Hortence Hardin and Nancy Ruth Stone; and brother Mitchel Hale Grice. She is survived by her son Eddy Burns and his wife Renee of Moriarty, NM; daughter Susan E. McKinley and her husband Frankie of Tucumcari, NM; brothers Howard Grice and Robert Grice and his wife Nancy; sister Laura Francis Taylor and her husband Richard; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00am at the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Estancia, NM with Pastor Cory Dryden officiating. Pallbearers will be M. D. Hackett, Johnny Perea, Quentin McKinley, Clinton Smith, Johnny Aday, and Stanley Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Perea, Cody Burns, Patrick Sanchez, Evan Morris, Dane Morris, Coley Lee Barner, Tyler Haughness and All her other friends and family.
