Donald Eugene Smith

Donald Eugene Smith, 73, a resident of Sandia Park since, 1971, formally of Clovis, NM, passed away Thursday March 28, 2013, in Albuquerque, NM. Donald was born September 24, 1939, to Luther Brown and Janie (Marthers) Smith, in Winnsboro, SC. Donald married Eva “Darlene” Rogers on August 21, 1958, Darlene preceded him in death on May 3, 2007. Donald was the Owner of Cedar Crest Appliance in Cedar Crest, NM for forty years. He is also preceded in death by one son Donald James “DJ” Smith; two brothers Sammie J. Smith and Tommy Smith. Donald is survived by two sons, Terry Dewayne and wife Margarita Smith of Tijeras, NM, and Jerry Wayne Smith of Sandia Park, NM; one daughter, Patricia and husband Florian Rael, of Moriarty, NM; two brothers JR Foutz, and Olan Smith; three sisters Frances Stewart, Peggy Gravermon, and Jane and her husband Robert Smith. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Donald will lie in state Tuesday April 2, 2013—10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday April 2, 2013—11:00 AM at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM with pastor Mack Barnard officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood, NM.
