Nick J. Pena

NICK J. PEÑA, 65, of Moriarty, New Mexico peacefully passed away at his home on February 15, 2013. Nick was born March 31, 1947 in Encino, New Mexico to Cipriano and Marie (Apodaca) Peña. He had lived in Moriarty for the past 30 years having previously lived in Santa Fe, NM. Nick was in the Army for six years. Nick was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents that raised him, Andres and Ocatida “Lala” Peña; and sisters, Patsy Peña and Mary Ann Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Vanita Peña of Moriarty; daughters, Kristy Branham and Steven Heitzenrater of Alamogordo and Jennifer Branham of Alamogordo; brothers Max Peña and his wife Angie of Moriarty, Harold Peña of Moriaty; sisters Canda Hernandez and her husband Lawrence of Santa Fe, Amy Peña and special family friend Wanda Jeter of Glorieta, and Christy Sedillo and her husband Albert of Santa Fe; Uncle Andy Peña and his wife Mercedes; two grandchildren Sierra Lopez and Julian Lopez; nephews Lawrence Sedillo, Joey Sedillo, Max Peña II, Brian Franklin and girlfriend Blanca Najar, Terry Quincy; nieces Angela Hernandez, Stephanie Hernandez and Blair Franklin; great-nephews Niko Rubio and Kaden Peña and Josh Jr. Franklin and great-nieces Ariana Franklin and Juluana Franklin and Christina Franklin and numerous aunts and uncles. There will be a viewing on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, February 21, 2013 following the viewing at 11:00am at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary with Chaplain Steven Tvedt officiating. Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15pm. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Sedillo, Joey Sedillo, Max Peña II, Michael Kirk, Terry Quincy, and Steven Heitzenrater. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his nieces and nephews and Uncle Andy Peña and Harold Peña.
