Jose A. Lucero

JOSE A. LUCERO, 89, of Estancia, New Mexico peacefully passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Jose was born September 6th, 1923 in Santa Rosa, NM to Clofeous and Maria (Cruz) Lucero. Jose was a longtime resident of Estancia. He married his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Juanita Sanchez, on May 27, 1944 in Vaughn, NM. Together they had and raised one son and eleven daughters. Jose was a member or Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elido, Nick, and Felipe; and sisters Monica and Emilia. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Lucero of Estancia; son David Lucero and his wife Tina of McIntosh; daughters Gloria Torres and her husband Joe of Albuquerque, Maria Barela and her husband Pete of Estancia, Carmen Sanchez and Johnny Benabidez of Socorro, Virginia Sedillo of Albuquerque, Teresa Wallace and her husband Ronald of Alamogordo, Joane Sanders of Estancia, Isabel Lucero of Estancia, Dolores Hollingsworth and her husband Glen of Albuquerque, Esther Sanchez and her husband Jerry of Estancia, Sylvia Lucero of Albuquerque, Sandra Lucero of Estancia; brother Juan Lucero; sister Anna Rascon; twenty-nine grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren. There will be a Rosary recited on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 7:00PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, New Mexico. The Mass of Resurrection will be on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00AM also at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Estancia with Rev. Fr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Pallbearers will be Adam Barela, Augustine Sena, Brian Sanchez, Daniel Graham, Eric Sanders, Shane Schlessener, Steven Lucero and Isaac Sanchez. Burial will follow the Mass at the Estancia Catholic Cemetery.
