Rosita G. Salas

ROSITA G. SALAS, 92, of Torreon, New Mexico peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, January 12, 2013. Rosita was born May 5th, 1920 in Torreon to Macario and Bersave (Chavez) Gabaldon. Rosita was a lifetime resident of Torreon. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Torreon. Mrs. Salas was a member of the San Antonio Women’s Society, always helping those who were sick. She was known as a healer in her community. Rosita was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Desiderio; granddaughter Donette Turrieta; and step-brother Cecilio Gabaldon. She is survived by her sons Ignacio Salas of Torreon, NM; Jimmy Salas of Mountainair, NM; Macario Salas of Torreon, NM and Herman Salas of Torreon, NM; daughters Mary and her husband Sam of San Antonio, TX, Lita Garcia of Mountainair, NM, Bertha Chavez and her husband Elfigo of Torreon, NM and Donna White and her husband Gary of San Antonio, TX; step-brother Guadalupe Montoya of Bosque Farms, NM; step-sister Rafalita Perez of Albuquerque, NM; thirty grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Mass at San Antonio Catholic Church in Torreon, NM on Thursday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00AM.
