RENE (Ray) SANTIAGO, 43, of Estancia, New Mexico passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Rene was born November 17, 1969 in Bronx, New York to Lino and Carmen (Robles) Santiago. Rene had lived in Torrance County, NM for the past five years. He was an Army Veteran. Renee was a member of the War Hippies MC, Mason and the VFW. He retired as a Sergeant from the United States Army in 2006. Rene married Elena Chavez on April 10, 2012 in Moriarty, NM. Rene was preceded in death by his father Lino Santiago. He is survived by his wife Elena Santiago of Estancia, NM; sons Gavin Santiago of OR, and Anthony and Gabriel Garcia of Estancia, NM; sisters Madelin Santiago and Norbert Gonzales, and her children Edmarie Agosto Santiago and Herbert Agosto Santiago; father & mother-in-law Bobby and Canda Chavez of Willard; brothers & sister-in-laws, Sam and Nestora Chavez of Estancia, Arlene Mendez of Willard, Julio and Faye Rodriguez of Willard, Danny and Zoraida Garcia of Willard, Randy and Roberta Gurule of Santa Rosa, Duane Chavez of Willard, Mark Chavez and Kendra of Tucumcari, Tony and Crystal Chavez of Moriarty and Paul Chavez and Patricia of Estancia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. There will be a Rosary recited on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 7:00PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. There will a Funeral Service at 10:00AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 also at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Pallbearers will be Tony Chavez, Jeff Chavez, Serge Sapien, Michael Gibson, James Giron, Norbert Gonzales, Carlos Rivera and Herbert Santiago. Honorary Pallbearers will be sons Gavin Santiago, Anthony Garcia and Gabriel Garcia; brothers-in-law; nephews and War Hippies brothers. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 1:30PM.
