Jessie W. Carter Sr.

JESSIE W. CARTER SR., 87, of Edgewood, New Mexico peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Jessie was born April 9, 1925 in Spur, Texas to Nick and Ina (Dement) Carter. He married his loving wife of 66 years, Margaret Massey in Weatherford TX on November 15, 1946. They had two children, Jessie Jr. and Nola. They had lived in Edgewood since 2008 having previously lived in Stevenville, TX. Jessie was a general manager for a car dealership and an Army veteran. Jessie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his wife Margaret of Edgewood, NM; son Jessie W. Carter Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Edgewood, NM; daughter Nola Fern Streit and her husband Richard of Lubbock, TX; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing at 5:00PM on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00PM at the Mortuary. Burial will be on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 9:45AM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Clay Blackshear, Gant Barnhill, John Stockard, Greg Dallas, Jessie W. Carter Jr. and Joe Duran.
