Robert Howard Akin

ROBERT HOWARD AKIN, 64, of Estancia, New Mexico, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, September 30, 2010. Robert was born August 16, 1948 in Mountainair, New Mexico to Joe D. and Mary Agnus (Zoerlaut) Akin. Robert was a lifetime resident of the Estancia Valley and a lifetime farmer. Robert was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mikayla who passed away in 2004; his wife, Yvonne Akin who passed away in 2006; and his father, Joe Akin who passed away in 2007. He is survived by his mother, Mary Akin of Estancia, NM; son, Mike Akin and Rosie Salas of Estancia, NM; daughter, Denise Smythe and her husband Todd and granddaughter, Taylor Smythe of Estancia, NM; brothers, Jerry and Barbara Peer of Tor C, NM and David and Domie Akin of McIntosh, NM; sister, Marilyn Akin of Estancia, NM; brother-in-law, Chuck and his wife Kathy Godec of Moriarty, NM; along with many nieces and nephews; loving companion, Susie Moyers and her children, Sarah Goodwin and her husband Allen, their children, Joshua and Rebecca; Roger Moyers and his wife Shantel and their child, Roger Coy Moyers, and Robert Moyers. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:00A.M. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Estancia, New Mexico with Deacon Stanley Davis officiating. Burial of cremains will follow the service at the Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, NM.
