Margaret Summers

MARGARET SUMMERS, 89, of Estancia, New Mexico peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Mrs. Summers was born June 10, 1923 in Petoski, Michigan to John and Catherine (Kelbel) Buday. She married James B. Summers Sr. on September 1, 1945 in Washington, DC. They had seven children. James preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Summers was a Navy Veteran. She had lived in Estancia for the past eighteen months having previously lived in Albuquerque and Grandforks, ND. She was a member of Estancia Valley Catholic Parish. Mrs. Summers was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Buday and her spouse, James Summers Sr. She is survived by her sons, “Jim” Summers and his wife Betty of Estancia, NM, Stephen Summers and his wife Betty of Flint, MI, David Summers of Pine Island, MN, Mark Summers of Silverthorne, CO, and Mike Summers of Belen, NM; daughters, Kathy Geraths and her husband Jay of Lakewood, WA and Jenny Summers and Mike Rosenthal of Oakland, CA; brother, Ray Buday and his wife Joan of Colorado Springs, CO; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a Rosary recited on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tajique, NM. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM with Rev. Fr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim B. Summers Jr., Stephen Summers, David Summers, Mark Summers, Mike Summers, Kathy Geraths and Jenny Summers. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
