Patrick Michael Ortiz

ORTIZ, PATRICK MICHAEL – 25 Beloved son of Priscilla C. and Michael Ortiz of Moriarty, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 as a result of a single automobile accident just minutes away from home. Patrick was born March 23, 1987 in Albuquerque, NM and grew up in Moriarty. He graduated from Moriarty High School in 2005 and just recently graduated from nursing school. Patrick was a joy to all that knew him and left us all with special memories we will forever cherish. His positive attitude and smile were enough to make everyone else in the area grin especially when we needed it the most. Patrick was a very patient person and would drop everything he was doing to help others. He lived life by the motto “Un Dia A La Vez” or one day at a time. When you wouldn’t find him helping people you could find him at the lake or the river. An avid sportsman and outdoorsman, Patrick would trade a day with a rod and reel on the lake for just about anything. His other hobbies included riding dirt bikes, quads, horses,and hunting; he would try anything twice. Patrick loved spending time with his dog “Popcorn” and puppy “Diesel” which was rarely away from his side. Patrick is survived by his parents, Priscilla C. and Michael; siblings, Francine, Fabian & Melissa and his precious niece, Heaven Lee Montano; maternal grandmother, Terry Candelaria; and paternal grandmother, Jean Ortiz, all of Moriarty; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Pallbearers will be Leroy Garley Jr., Ray Martinez Jr., Mike Tapia Jr., Matthew Sigala, Wesley Lewis, Jared Pillars, Joseph Martinez and Justin Rariden. A Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM on Thursday, July 12 at 7:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will also be held at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church on Friday, July 13 at 10:00am with Rev. Fr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty.
