Eugene (Gene) Julian Predika

EUGENE (Gene) JULIAN PREDIKA, 80, of Moriarty, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 7, 2012. Eugene was born June 20, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley and Josephine (Kiljian) Predika. He had lived in Moriarty since 1974 having previously lived in Chicago till 1959 and Albuquerque till 1974. Eugene married Gloria Szerknis in Chicago. Together they had and raised two children, Larry and Sandi. Eugene was a Veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Marine Corp. He was a local artist and sculptor. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Predika of Moriarty; son, Larry Predika; and daughter, Sandi (Sunshine) both of Albuquerque; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to UNM Children’s Hospital in Eugene’s name.
