LUCERO, BESSIE, 77, a lifetime resident of Mountainair, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 21, 2012, in Albuquerque, NM. Bessie was born on March 26, 1935 in Mountainair, NM to Ruperto Lopez and Adela Baca. She married her husband, Proceso Lucero on October 4, 1949 in El Paso, TX. Bessie was a member of the Mountainair Christian Center, who loved music, especially singing and playing guitar, dancing, and spending time with all of her grandchildren. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; Ruperto and Adela Lopez, sons; Robert Lucero and Patrick Lucero, daughter Dolores Lucero, brothers; Antonio Lopez, Florencio Lopez, Paz Lopez, Magarito Lopez, Armenez Lopez, and Hinio Lopez; sisters; Bennie Aldaz, Alice Pace, and Mary Gomez, grandson; Robert John Lucero, and granddaughter; Tanya Lucero. Bessie is survived by her loving husband; Proceso Lucero of Mountainair, NM, sons; Conrad Lucero of Albuquerque, NM, Frank Lucero of Mountainair, NM, Arthur Lucero of Los Lunas, NM, Richard Lucero of Ohio, daughter; Maria Lucero of Mountainair, NM, and her special grandchildren who she raised; Conrad Lucero, Jr., Sandra Lucero, John Lucero, Theresa Itturralde, Joseph Lucero, Benjamin Lucero, Gabriel Lucero, and Margaret Lucero, having a total of 35 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. A viewing will take place on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11:00 am at Assembly of God Church in Mountainair, with Pastors Doris and Shirley of The Mountainair Christian Center officiating. Interment will follow at Mountainair Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Lucero, Gabriel Lucero, Ruben Sisneros, Joshua Sisneros, Patrick Ray Lucero, and Vicente Quintana.
