ANNIE P. MENDONCA, 103, of Moriarty, New Mexico peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Annie was born December 6, 1908 in Galisteo, New Mexico to Tomas and Julianita Peña. Annie was a lifetime resident of the Estancia Valley. She married her loving spouse of 42 years, Antonio Mendonca, August 18, 1936 in Cerrillos, NM. Antonio preceded her in death in 1979. Annie was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society and La Socidad de Sangrado Corazon for many years. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Julianita Peña; husband, Antonio Mendonca; daughter, Mary Burnett; three sisters, Sara Sena, Pablita Chavez, and Remedios Chavez; three brothers, Jose Peña, Pedro Peña, and Gabino Peña; and granddaughter, Erlinda Padilla. She is survived by her sister, Madgalena Delgado of Santa Fe; granddaughters, Annette P. Luna and her husband Fred, and Shirley A. Payne and her husband Danny; great-grandchildren, Senica Kasper and her husband Tyler, Dominic Garcia-Payne, and Jacey and Wylan Payne; great-great-grandchildren Jayden Kasper and Brysen Kasper; caregivers, Flora and Candido Alarid; and many nephews and nieces. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 also at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers will be Clyde Peña, Gilbert Peña, Victor Chavez, Louie Chavez, Antonio Chavez and Dominic Garcia-Payne. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Luna, Danny Payne, Tyler Kasper, Terry Burnett, Jayden Kasper, Brysen Kasper, Brian Alarid and all of her nephews, nieces, and Godchildren.
