Jose Maese Sr.

December 7, 1921 — April 8, 2012

JOSE MAESE SR., 90, of Moriarty, New Mexico peacefully passed away at his home with his loving family beside him on Sunday, April 8, 2012. Jose was born December 7, 1921 in Las Vegas, NM to M.R. and Maria Maese. He married Cleta Kendall February 27, 1946. Cleta preceded him in death November 21, 1989 and his son Jose Maese Jr. preceded him in death April 7, 1994. Jose was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran. He is survived by his daughters, Lela Lusch and her husband Damian of Edgewood, and Melba Romero of Moriarty; sons, Charles Maese and his wife Sylvia of Edgewood, Kenneth Maese and his wife Toni of Moriarty, Robert Maese and his wife Joane of Albuquerque; brother, Salomon Maese; sister-in-law, Flossie Kendall; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Dad loved playing the sax and playing bingo, fishing, camping and being around family and friends. There will be a Rosary recited at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. The Mass of the Resurrection will be on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 9:45AM with Fr. George Salazar officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnny Romero Jr., Jose Romero, Damian Lusch Jr., Kevin Maese, Joe Maese III, and Robert Maese Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kathy Herrera, Tiffany Lucero, Kimberly Maese, Rachel Maese, Laura Maese and Alicia Godfrey. A very special “Thank You” to all of his special friends.
