Florian Romero

Florian Romero, 88, a resident of Moriarty since 1963, formerly of Santa Fe, NM, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM with his loving family beside him. Florian was born June 20, 1923, in Palma, NM to Manuel and Eugenia (Marquez) Romero. He married Tessie Baca June 30, 1947, in Santa Fe, NM, she preceded him in death on August 13, 1992. Florian was an avtive member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM where he regularly attended with his best friend Aggie Chavez. He was a member of the Society of Saint Joseph in Galisteo, NM, and a Peregrino. Florian was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Tessie, and three sons Frank Romero, Anthony Romero, and Peter Romero. Florian is survived by, four sons Johnny Romero Sr. and wife Marcia, of Santa Fe, NM, Paul Romero, and wife Mary of Moriarty, NM, Donald Romero and wife Annette of Cedar Crest, NM, and Billy Vissaraga and wife Jessica of Santa Fe, NM; two daughters Joanne Romero of Moriarty, NM and Pita Trujillo and husband Ruben of Loco Hills, NM; one sister Carmen Jimenez of Santa Fe, NM; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Florian also helped raise two other children, Danny Chavez and Suanna Villanueva. Florian Romero will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. There will be a viewing Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with Rosary being recited at 7:00PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. The Celebration of the Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM with Fr. Robert Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM. Pallbearers will be Peter Romero, Jose Romero, Lawrence Romero, Patrick Romero, Jesus Trujillo, and Ruben Trujillo Jr.
