DORA G. PADILLA, 97, of Tajique, New Mexico peacefully passed away at her home with her loving family surrounding her on Saturday, October 29, 2011. Dora was born on September 22, 1914 in Willard, New Mexico to Roman and Ida (Dow) Garcia. She was a lifetime resident of Torrance County. She was married to Secundino Padilla who preceded her in death in 1977. Dora was an active member of San Antonio Catholic Church in Tajique where she was a Catechism Teacher for many years. Mrs. Padilla was a Public School Teacher for 38 years and she was also a 4-H Leader for many years. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Ida Garcia; husband, Secundino Padilla; and son, Leo Padilla. She is survived by her sons, Patrick Padilla and his wife, Wanda of Santa Fe, NM, Daniel Padilla and his wife Joyce of Moses Lake, WA, and James Padilla of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Rosemary McIlhaney of Las Vegas, NV and Loretta Doty and her husband Virgil of Tajique, NM; sister, Anna Gallegos of Albuquerque, NM; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. There will be a Rosary beginning at 10:00am on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. The Mass will follow at 11:00am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, November 3, 2011 with Rev. Fr. Larry Merta officiating. Pallbearers will be Marc DotyJenkins, Cameron Martinez, Quintin Cox, Mark Beasley, Charlie Pacheco, and Byron Padilla. Honorary Pallbearer will be Frank Fastwolf. Burial will be at 2:00pm at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE, Albuquerque, NM.
