Merrill Lee Larson

MERRILL LEE LARSON, 92, of Brownfield, Texas passed away at his home on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Merrill was born on August 27, 1919 in Moorehead, Iowa to Frank and Effie (Montgomery) Larson. He had lived in Brownfield, TX for the past four years, having previously lived in Moriarty, NM. Merrill pastored several Baptist Churches throughout the state of New Mexico. Merrill was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Effie Larson; two wives, Frances Larson and Lois Larson; daughter, Miriam Pettit; and brother, Voyle Larson. He is survived by his three sons, Raymond Larson and his wife, Lou Ann of Brownfield, TX, H.C. “Shorty” Larson and his wife, Sue of Georgetown, CO, and Arley Larson and his wife, Nancy of Maryville, MO.; one sister, Bertha Dean of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a Funeral Service on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church of Moriarty with Pastor Tom Schenk officiating. Pallbearers will be Birchie West, Tom Walmsley, Rich Reusser, Bob Crow, Mike Draper and Paul Chavez. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
