DAN U. DALTON, 79, of Moriarty, New Mexico passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Dan was born on November 20, 1931 in El Macho, New Mexico to James S. and Estefanita (Urban). Dan had lived in Moriarty for the past twelve years having previously lived in Santa Fe. Dan was a heavy equipment operator for the US Forest Service. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Catanach Dalton; daughter, Mercy Dalton and brother, Arthur E. Dalton. He is survived by his companion, Rosina L. Apodaca of Moriarty, NM; sister-in-law, Frances Dalton of Santa Fe, NM; brothers, David Dalton of Santa Fe, NM; Richard Dalton and his wife Violette of Texas, Herman Dalton and his wife Maria of Santa Fe, NM, Alfred Dalton of Arroyo Seco, NM and Jessie James Dalton of Santa Fe, NM; sisters, Ramona Hands of Albuquerque, NM, Jenny Martinez of Albuquerque, NM, Nellie Armijo of Longmont, CO, Lenora Cordova and her husband William of Santa Fe, NM and Virginia D. Otero of Santa Fe, NM. There will be a Rosary on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 10:00am with Rev. Fr. William Young officiating. Burial will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Dalton, Richard Dalton, Herman Dalton, Alfred Dalton, Jessie James Dalton, Charlie Dalton, Abel Armijo and Francisco Franco.
