Margarita "Maggie" M. Ortiz

MARGARITA “MAGGIE” ORTIZ, 88, of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011. Maggie was born on May 25, 1922 in Villanueva, NM to Leonardo and Donecia (Ramo) Montoya. Maggie was a life time resident of New Mexico. Maggie married Arturo G. Ortiz, who preceded her in death in 2006, in Villanueva, NM on February 24, 1941. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church in Edgewood, NM. Maggie is survived by her sons, Frank Ortiz of Villanueva, NM, Arthur E. Ortiz Jr. and his wife Sylvia of Albuquerque, NM and Leonard Ortiz of Edgewood, NM; daughters Mary Lou Silva of Edgewood, NM and Bernice Sanchez and her husband Freddie of Albuquerque, NM; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00am on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Anne Seaton Catholic Church in Edgewood, NM. The Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11:00 with Fr. William Young officiating. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM at 12:30pm. Pallbearers will be Danny Baldonado, Manuel Baldonado, Jimmy Ortiz, Steven Ortiz, Joseph Sanchez, and Steven Trujillo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Monica Ortiz, Lynette Sanchez, Denise Silva, Shannon Ortiz, Kristi Ortiz, and Michelle Ortiz. Bernice would like to thank her husband, Freddie Sanchez for being her mother’s caregiver while she was at work.
