Herman "Papa" Lee Riley

RILEY - Herman Lee “Papa” Riley, 68, a life long resident of Torrance County, passed away on March 1, 2011 at his home with his loving family beside him. Herman was born on June 5, 1942 in Albuquerque, NM to James Herbert and Mayme Lee (Holliday) Riley. Herman married Leah Marie Moorhead of Ewing, NM on April 10, 1960. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, James Herbert and Mayme Lee Riley; daughter, Lynette Renee Riley; sister, Pauline Riley; and brother, Herbert Riley. He is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Leah Riley of their home; children, Linda Riley Warren and husband Bruce, Runnel Riley and wife Ivonne, Randol Riley and wife Cari and Lisa Hughes and husband Mike all of Estancia; brother, JD Riley and wife Janie of Globe, AZ; sisters, Betty Scott of Moriarty, Patsy Riley of Estancia; grandchildren, Patrick Riley and wife Retta of Albuquerque, Michael Hughes of Estancia, Laura Riley of Albuquerque, Leah Jo Acosta and husband Roman of Estancia, Porter Riley of Albuquerque, Kaycee (Riley) Killebrew and husband Jarrod of Estancia, Chris Hughes of Estancia, Chelsea Riley and Mike Mendez of Estancia, Phillip and Gianni Warren of Estancia, NM, and Lillian Riley of Estancia; great-grandchildren, Lucas Acosta, Devon Mendez, Russell Acosta and Kaydence Killebrew; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Herman was an old time cowboy who loved to garden. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Estancia Middle School Gym with Art Marquez and Jonathan Richards officiating. Burial will follow at the Estancia Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chester Riley Jr., Ivan Riley, Gary Thomas, Waylon Riley, Bo Holliday, and Larry Lawrence. Honorary Pallbearers are all of his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
