Mildred Faye Tate, 86, of Moriarty, NM passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
Mildred was born on September 14, 1924 in Pueblo, CO to Frank and Ann (Hodges) Hester. Mildred who had lived in Moriarty, NM since 1955 was a substitute school teacher, city librarian, member of American Legion Auxiliary, active member of the Church of the Nazarene and a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Mildred married Cyril Tate, who preceded her in death in 2000, on June 11, 1942. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ann Hester; her spouse of fifty-eight years, Cyril Tate; and her son, Alfred Tate. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Pat” Jones and her husband Raymond of Moriarty, NM; sons, Jim “J.B.” Tate and his wife Joanie of Scottsdale, AZ and Bert Tate and his wife Barbara of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Marie Rushing and her husband Melton of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren, Jay and his wife Kristin, Vicki, and Nicole Tate, Brian and Kerry Jones, Jennifer Chavez and her boyfriend Ben Gutierrez and Cindy and her husband Kenny Fresquez; and five great-grandchildren, Leaya, Michael and Natalie Tate, Isaiah Chavez and Jonathan Fresquez. There will be a viewing on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 3:00PM at the Moriarty Church of the Nazarene. Arnie Leidy and Harold Cartwright will officiate. The burial will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, NM. Pallbearers will be Jay Tate, Brian Jones, Kenny Fresquez, Danny Paiz, Ben Gutierrez, Louie Guenther, Jesse Rogers and George Gill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to The Edgewood Out Reach Church of the Nazarene.
