Artie "Granny" Ophelia Pinckard

Artie Ophelia Pinckard, affectionately known as “Granny”, passed away on January 8, 2011 in Rio Rancho, NM. Granny was born in New Hope, Arkansas on November 15, 1918 to James and Nellie Hanry. She had one brother, James Hanry of Omaha, Nebraska who preceded her in death. She married James E. Pinckard on September 24, 1938 and was married 55 years before his death in September 1993. She had three children, Beth Hensley and husband Don Hensley of Albuquerque, Sue Crawley who preceded her in death and son in law Bill Crawley and one son, James Pinckard and wife Viona of Las Cruces. She had eight grand children, 19 great grand children, 2 great great grand children, foster children and many friends who she loved very much. Artie was an ordained minister and associate pastor with Heavenbound Ministries of Albuquerque. She was very involved and loved her church family. She loved praying and reading her Bible and ministering in her church, baking for her son in laws restaurant, crocheting, and was kind to all and had a very generous spirit. She was the owner of two restaurants in Albuquerque, The Cookhouse and Big Chief Restaurant now known as Murphy’s Mule Barn. Artie was a long time resident of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, moved to Albuquerque in 1978 and resided at Skies Healthcare Facility for the last six months where she was loved and cared for and now is reunited with her husband and daughter in heaven. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 10:00AM at Heaven Bound Family Church in Albuquerque, NM with Pastor Joe Cordero officiating. Burial will follow at Mountainair Cemetery in Mountainair, NM. Pall Bearers: Rudy Page, Kenny Snoeberger, Bill Crawley, Jr., B. J. Crawley, Don Hensley and Leonard Deale.
