Lowell C. “Abe” Koen, 86, a long time resident of Moriarty, NM Passed away Wednesday June 20, 2012, with his loving family beside him. Abe was born October 17, 1925 in Borger, TX, to Walter and Hattie Koen. Abe was a member of the Catholic Church. Abe was a dedicated and devoted husband and father. He was a tall man with a good heart, who always had a warm smile and strong handshake for anyone he met. Abe never met a man he didn’t like. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hattie Koen; wife, Pauline D. Koen, who passed away May 11, 2012; and daughter, Michele Koen, who passed away May 6, 2007. Abe is survived by his sons, Dion Koen and wife Anna of Moriarty, NM, and Galen Koen of Moriarty, NM; sisters, Fairlee Trimble and Twila Koen Johnson; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 12:30-1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm, at Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers will be Galen Koen, Dion Koen, Shauna Krantz, Breauna Hampton, Dean Schwebach, Shawn-Pierre Chavarria, Scott Koen Sr., and Scott Koen Jr.
